“It’s for little kids, mom.” This was what my daughter said two years ago when I asked her to use YouTube kids. She was 11 years old then.
YouTube is a platform intended for 13 years old and up, but older kids do not seem to be enjoying most of its contents. If you have the same concern with your children, this is good news for you.
YouTube will be launching a new experience so that parents can allow their older children to access YouTube using a supervised Google Account.
Key takeaways:
- The supervised experience includes content settings and limited features.
- The settings will be on beta stage for testing and getting feedback from different families.
- Three content settings will be made available: Explore (for ages 9+); Explore More (for ages 13+); and Most of YouTube (for older teens).
